OM2H Mesquite
Back to Gallery
Description
Due to their small size, mesquite trees cannot typically provide sets wide enough for acoustic guitar backs, especially quartersawn sets. So when our friends at Berdoll Sawmill showed up with this ultra-rare, quartersawn mesquite wide enough for an OM, we were thrilled to have the chance to use it on a custom build for them.
Being so unique and also Texas-grown, it only made sense for them to provide us with more locally sourced wood to pair with it. Enter Texas Royal Ebony. While not a true ebony, this is a beautifully-colored wood with a desirable weight and density, providing a durable and well-suited match to the mesquite for the guitar’s fingerboard, bridge, peghead veneer, wedge, and heel cap.
