The very first Collings model to offer a six-in-line peghead, our 71 also introduces a new offset, double cutaway body shape.  This design gives us a platform to explore classic configurations that have become fundamental to guitar music.

Hand-selected woods, including an ash body and slab sawn hard maple neck, are only the beginning, as the 71 also brings a 25 1/2″ scale length, T-style pickups, and more to the table.  While starting with a historically-validated format, the 71’s fully coupled set neck and body system was designed with finely tuned geometry intended to be matched to the model’s specific, high end hardware and pickups for an elevated outcome.

Standard features include Lollar T-style pickups with optional Throbak and Ron Ellis versions, a “Collings”-stamped Rutters bridge with trimmed sides and brass saddles, Kluson Supreme tuners, Davies Radio knobs with push-pull series/parallel on the tone, and Jupiter Vintage Yellow capacitors.
