This 12-fret 000 features a unique set of “blister koa” back and sides matched to a “Q” top.  Sonic grading through meticulously developed scientific techniques ensures the Sitka spruce billet from which the top is cut has exceptionally low damping – a highly-desirable trait for tonewoods – even before our head luthier begins the involved hand-voicing process.

Matching this top to an exceptional back and sides on a 12-fret body has resulted in an instrument with a surprisingly quick response for its 24 7/8″ scale length and more depth and richness than one would expect to find on a Sitka and koa guitar.  Whether flatpicked or played fingerstyle, this 0001 Koa SS maintains both warmth and clarity making it hard to put down.
