Our C-00 brings a truly vintage vibe to the C10 Series lineup.  Inspired by early to mid 30’s 00 instruments, the voice of the C-00 is open and punchy with a strong, full midrange, less refined than other C-10 models and more vintage-voiced.  The sunburst top is closed in, reminiscent of guitars from the time but with the Collings touch, while a tigerstripe pickguard, cut-through saddle, and rosewood fingerboard and bridge lean into the period-correct character.

While both models share the same body dimensions, key differences are outlined below.

• Our standard series instruments (C10 non-T) offer the classic Collings voice, which features shimmery highs, a punchy midrange, a tight and clean low end, and maximum headroom with a quick response.  The scale length is 25 1/2″ and the standard neck profile is our C shape with 1 11/16″ nut width and 2 3/16″ string spacing.  Standard instruments also offer a wider range of custom options than Traditionals.
• Our Traditional series instruments (C10 T) offer a slightly looser, more “broken in” feel and tone compared to the standard models, featuring a rounder high end and fuller low midrange, along with our Traditional aesthetic appointments, such as gold MOP peghead logo and custom wood purflings.  The C10 T has our rounded Vintage Now neck profile with 24 7/8″ scale length, 1 3/4″ nut width, and 2 5/16″ string spacing.  It also features an ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer body finish, abbreviated soundboard graft (tongue brace), and unique neck construction designed to complement the looser feel and voicing.  Due to the vintage-inspired vision for these guitars, Traditional instruments are offered with limited custom options.
• Our C-00 is strongly vintage-voiced, less refined and shimmery with a honky, punchy midrange, along with period-appropriate appointments, such as a closed-in sunburst, rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and cut-through saddle.  The neck profile is a full, thick V shape.  Custom options are limited.
