MF5 V Torch and Wire

Behold one of three special MF5 Varnish models that we recently built featuring stunning “Torch and Wire” inlays. This beautiful and ornate inlay pattern was first introduced in the early 1900s, and is comprised of colorful abalone pearl and artfully inlaid silver wire. Naturally, we selected some of our finest figured Eastern maple and Adirondack spruce tops for these mandolins, resulting in powerful and expressive tone that really comes to life through the ultra-thin alkyd resin varnish finish. Our custom handmade vintage-style case completes the package for an heirloom quality instrument that is unmistakably Collings.
